There is something about a lovely stack of books that is just oh so appealing. With a fresh stack of books on my desk I can’t help but smile. Spring is finally here and I am going to introduce some lovely, colorful and blooming (literally) books that you absolutely need on your Spring reading list! Excited to share my Spring reading list with you, plus a little somethin’ somethin’ at the end. <3
The Muse by Jessie Burton. This has been on my list for a while, so I have already jumped in! Seductive and enthralling, this read is amazing so far and I know it will continue to weave a story of myserteous characters, paintings and relationships. So far, the book has shown promising and interesting character relationships so I am excited to see where it leads.
whiskey words & a shovel volume II by R. H. Sin. This is Sin’s second installment and it is already living up to it’s predecessor. Raw, living and breathing emotion literally drips from Sin’s pages. He talks about life, love, experiences, and everything in between. All of the emotions that one feels, he invokes in his second collection. So beautiful. If you are not a poetry fan, please do me favor and still pick this one up.
Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf. This is one of the books my book club is reading. I have started it and let me tell you it is so beautiful. it seems simple at first, but the depth of the two main characters, the pain they endured, the love they have felt and the life they have lived is portrayed so beautifully.
The Best of Adam Sharp by Graeme Simsion. A novel about the what if’s and then suddenly the what if’s become reality? Sign me up. From author of The Rosie Project, his next novel explores the relationships and life of Adam and his fantasy love Angelina.
Black Moon by Kenneth Calhoun. They say don’t judge a book by it’s over, but they never said anything about judging a book by it’s spine! What a beauty! I had to add in a little mind trip book in here! An insomnia ran world (maybe a new reality?) is my new must read dystopian sci-fi. Seeing if it holds up to Dark Matter ( see my review here.)
Eat Pretty by Jolene Hart. This book is wonderful. I have read it before. It is not a recipe book, by any means, but it is a health conscious book. Spring is all about them blooming fruits and veggies. Definitely take a look into this book if you are wanting cleanse your body, mind an soul with delicious and seasonal food!
the princess saves herself in this one by Amanda Lovelace. This one I am so, so, SOOOOO excited to read. It is divided into four parts and I cannot wait to read and dissect it to pieces. It explores all aspects of life, love, loss, grief, healing, you name it. Another one that is perfect for the shelves.
Modern lovers by Emma Straub. What a satisfyingly beautiful book. The cover is super pleasant too. How can you not think spring when you see this! This book explores relationships of people. They characters feel so real. They are all so relevant to people who we walk with daily. I love books that are humorous and satisfying. There is just something about a beautiful write book, relatable and amazing characters and a eye popping cover that works. I am in the middle of this and all I can say is YES.
A few other books I am looking into:
- A Gentleman on Moscow by Amor Towles
- Sweet bitter by Stephanie Danler
- On Writing by Stephen King
- Mindfulness @ Work by Amanda Black
